I read this when Mark Dowds linked to it on Twitter. He called it "great coverage" and I completely agree: the quality of the writing is right up there with the quality of the photos. Nice work, Mark!

And now I know that Mark Dowds is even more of a nutcase than I already knew -- and of course I mean that as a compliment.

Thanks Ian for the reply.
The items in the ICU can move around if they're loose so folding down the cover would drop them into the pack.
Removing the ICU to take onto smaller planes is a good idea and worth the repacking if you don't want to let your camera out of sight.
I've got a medium ICU on order so I'm looking forward to freeing up some space in the pack and travelling lighter.

Hi, I work for F-Stop, just checked out your review, just wanted to point out a few things.

- "When fully loaded with camera gear it can get very heavy."
Painfully, this is the nature of camera gear. Not sure what your were expecting. :)

- I can't comment on the pain issues as this is the first I have heard shoulder bite complaints. Possibly just not cut for your torso.

- New ICU's have addressed all your issue.

- the side tabs on the ICU are to attach it to your pack, there are points where it attaches inside the bag.

- most people leave the ICU door open and tucked below its base. This is how it was designed. This will speed up your access issue.

- and finally don't judge all small aircraft the same, as here is an image of the Satori in a regional jet - http://tinyurl.com/2feza96. But when this does happen just slide out the ICU and bring that on. Check in the pack.

Thanks for sharing and I hope the above helps your experience.
